Installing Blender plugins

Supported Blender Version
IO Builder supports Blender version 4.1.x. Download it from here.

Download Blender Plugins
Get the IO Builder plugins for Blender from this link: Download Plugins.

Locate the Scripts Folder
After installing Blender, find the scripts folder where plugins will be placed. The location varies by operating system:

• Windows: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 4.1\4.1\scripts\addons
• macOS: Open the application bundle, then locate the scripts folder.
• Linux: Navigate to the installation directory and find the scripts folder similarly.

Install Plugins

• Extract the downloaded plugin archive.
• Copy each of the plugin folders into the appropriate scripts\addons folder as per your operating system.
• Open Blender and go to Edit > Preferences > Add-ons.
• Enable the following plugins:
  • IO Builder Link
  • IO Builder Robot
  • IO Builder Light
  • IO Builder Object Sync
• Restart Blender.

Re-Installing Blender Plugins
If you need to update the plugins, follow these steps:

• Open the Blender scripts folder at the appropriate location.
• Delete any existing folders for plugins you wish to update (IO Builder Link, IO Builder Robot, IO Builder Light, IO Builder Object Sync).
• Copy the updated plugin folders to the same location.
• Restart Blender to apply the updates.
